Welcome to our school
Welcome to Oak Hill CE Primary School. Children from our local villages, wider rural community and nearby towns attend our school because of the nurturing care and support we provide to every child. In this environment, our pupils are able to learn, grow and flourish as individuals with the support of our enthusiastic and effective teaching staff, together with our dedicated support staff. Our pupils are passionate about learning, embracing all of the experiences and educational opportunities we provide.
Situated in the beautiful Cotswolds village of Alderton, our school is still based in the village's original Victorian school building. Whilst our school is nearing its 150th birthday, our facilities have evolved and adapted from their humble beginnings, especially in recent years. Our most recent investments have seen significant changes & improvements to our EYFS and Key Stage 1 indoor and outdoor continuous provision areas, the security around our site and renovation of our classrooms to create outstanding facilities to meet the needs of every child.
At Oak Hill, we believe in developing and maintaining strong working partnerships with our pupils' families and with our wider village community. We are fortunate that so many in our whole school community willingly and regularly offer invaluable practical help to support the children’s education. Our volunteers use their dedication and talents to help maximise the opportunities we can offer to our pupils.
We are proud that at Oak Hill, when we talk about 'our whole school community' we include current, former and prospective pupils & their families, current and former staff & governors together with current and former members of the village communities our school serves. Our close ties to local organisations enable our pupils to look beyond the boundaries of their small rural school school for inspiration and challenge. Oak Hill truly is a family, with generations of experience and shared commitment to the school's long term future.
